Doron Medical Center

The vision that launched Meaningful Life International in 2006 was actually given to founders Rev. Dr. Godwin and wife Medical Dr. Lenusia Ahlijah back in their post undergrad university days. Godwin and Lenusia have for a long time, spent most of their time  bringing relevant medical attention to the poor and underprivileged not just in Ghana but all over the continent of Africa.  The Doron Medical Center is the beginning of that precious vision.  The Greek meaning of the word ‘Doron’ means gift and implies “Gift from God.”  The existing site covers 4 acres of land and is surrounded by surplus land available for purchase when expansion is needed.  The current foundation is strong enough to support 4 floors and will become the hub of medical outreaches to the rural village communities.

DMC will be the premier healthcare facility in the area and will house an operating theater or surgical room with state of the art medical equipment.  Upon completion of all floors, DMC will be able to house medical teams desiring to learn firsthand how to treat subtropical diseases and illnesses common in Africa.  Furthermore, medical teams can come and volunteer their time, skills and work rotations and minister to the needy by traveling to the rural areas and participating in medical outreaches. 

DMC once operational will become the sustainable arm of MLI.  Located on the outskirts of Tema, a fast growing urban center, many local residents will be able to pay for their medical services.  Thus generating income for MLI to become more self sufficient in raising money for future projects.

It is critical that we finish this special project as soon as possible in order to bring hope to the people who are suffering from lack of basic medical care.  Thus the completion of Doron Medical Center has earned this project an URGENT Project Status.
